WHAT DOES THE HOLY QUR’AN SAY ABOUT FINGERPRINTS??

image

Everyone, Including Identical twin have a unique fingerprint, In other words people’s identities are coded at their fingertips, This Allah-made coding system may also be compared to the Bar code system that is used today.

Fingerprints attain there final shape before birth and remain the same for a lifetime unless a permanent scar occurs due to injury etc, that is why fingerprints are accepted as a very important proof for Identity, The science of fingerprints has been used as a Non Erring identity
Determination method.

Does the Man think that we shall not assemble his bones (and rise him up alive from grave)?? Verily we are powerful to restore his very
fingertips!” (Surah Qiyaamah 75; verses 3-4)

The Above Qur’anic Verses states that it is easy for Allah to bring Man back to life on the day of Qiyaamah after death, People’s Fingerprints are particularily emphasized.

However, What is Important is that these Feature of fingerprint was only discovered during the 19th century, but the fact was hidden in the Qur’an 14th centuries ago!, Before then people regarded fingerprints as ordinary curves without any importance, However in the Qur’an, Allah points to the fingertips, Which did not attract anyone’s attention at
that time, calls to our attention to their importance, these importancehas only been understood in our present Era.

SCIENTIFIC FACT’S ABOUT FINGERPRINTS DISCOVERED IN THIS ERA:

* Finger prints are formed in the Embryo at the fourth month and remain distinct and intact for the whole lifetime.

* Finger prints are a record of curvatures that arise due to the fusion of Epidermis with dermis

* These curvatures differ from one person to other and doesn’t match or correspond among all humans.

Here it should also be noticed that the Above Qur’anic passage also
speaks about the recreation of all fingertips, not just one, The word
fingertips refers to all hand fingers, so shaping them again after being scattered all over the mud on the resurrection day is one of the signs of Allah Almighty’s power, this is but only one side of Allah’s ability to resurrect people during qiyaamah with their Identifiable parts after annihilation.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the fingerprints are one of the signs of Almighty Allah that contain the secret of his creation, and certify to the entity of the person without any confusion, thus becoming the most genuine testimony in this world and the Aakhiraah.

The finger prints is also a demonstration of Allah’s greatness of shaping such lines on a very small space no more than a few square centimeters, its a wonderful scientific miracle of Allah Almighty which is Evident to all of us!

Praise be to Allah the Almighty who says: ‘‘Soon we will show them our signs in the fullest Horizons, and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth” (Surah Fussilat 41, Verses 53)

Fact: Israeli Star in reality is the Star of the Devil

image

THE STAR IN THE ISRAELI FLAG: IS IT THE STAR OF DAVID?? OR WHAT’S ITS REAL
REPRESENTATION THAT YAHOOD’s HID FROM THE WORLD?? READ ON CAREFULLY TO
EXPOSE THE ISRAEL’S EVILNESS BEHIND IT:

What is the Origin of the ”Star of David”?? Was it really the Ancient Symbol of David i.e. Dawud Alaihissalaam’s Shield?? Why does this figure in the Israeli Flag?? You may get totally shocked at the Answers to these questions.

The Israeli’s say The Magen David or Star of David is the Shape of
Prophet Dawud (David) Alaihisalaam’s Shield, but there is no concrete Evidence to support this claim in any Jewish Scriptures, In Reality, the star symbol is rarely mentioned in Early Jewish Artworks and whenever its mentioned its only related to Devil and Shaitaan and evil, the fact of these Star Symbol is a forgery named as shield of Dawud Alaihisalaam and in reality David or Dawud Alaihissalaam has nothing to do with it but this particular symbol has its roots to Shaitaan the Devil.

THE HEXAGRAM:

The so called ”Star of David” is Essentially a ”Hexagram” in Shape,Nothing more or Nothing Less. There is no biblical or Jewish proof that traces this symbol with David (Dawud Alaihissalaam), However, there is an Evidence that the always betraying and unobeying folks of Bani Israail (Israel) used this symbol secretly during the Era of Prophet
Sulaiman Alaihisalaam (Solomon) to Worship Evil Demons and Devils of Occults, This shows that the present day Israeli’s are the worshippers and friends of Devils.

This 6 Pointed Star is Evil and Ancient Symbol and most powerfully related to Evil Demons, Iblis, Shaitaan, Khabees, Lucifer,Satan Etc Etc In Turn this was worshipped first by Ancient Israeli’s for Magic,
Witchcraft and sorcery and Evil Astrology.

If You Closely examine the Israeli Hexagram u will notice it has 6
points, forms 6 Equilateral Triangles and its interior forms 6 sided Hexagon, thus revealing The Number foretold by Prophet Danyaal Alaihissalaam

As the Mark of the Anti-christ i.e. Dajjaal, which Isa Alaihissalaam foretold as the mark of 666!!! and our Aaqa Muhammadur Rasoolallah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam rightly warned that ”The Dajjaal will be the representative of devils on Earth!” (Tirmidhi)

Conclusion: THIS IS THE REALITY OF ISRAEL! HISTORY HAS ALWAYS RECORDED WHY THEY HAVE BEEN THE MOST MISLEADING AND EVIL TRIBES ON EARTH WHO DIDN’T EVEN LISTENED TO THEIR PROPHET’S WORDS INSTEAD THEY FOLLOWED THE SHAYATEENS AND DEVILS AND ITS NOT A HIDDEN FACT THAT DAJJAAL WILL BE A JEW FROM ISRAEL! THEY ARE KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE AND IN REALITY THEY ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS WHO ARE AGAINST HUMANITY, THEY ARE SACRIFICING TRUE PEOPLE OF ALLAH FOR THEIR SHAITAAN DAJJAAL.

Baseless criticism of Sufism/Tasawwuf

[By Shaykh Ahmad Sadeq Desai D.B]

         BASELESS CRITICISM OF SUFISM

The Reality of Sufism in Light of the Quran and the Sunnah , a booklet against Tasawwuf written by a Salafi, one Ibn Hadee al-Madkhalee, is a portrayal of the ignorance of the author in particular, and in general the ignorance of the Salafis of this era. Since they have confused Tasawwuf (Sufi’ism) with the cults of Bid’ah, they denounce Tasawwuf and proclaim it to be bid’ah, shirk and in conflict with Tauheed.

At the outset it is emphasized that any brand of ‘tasawwuf’ or ‘sufi’ism’ which is in conflict with the Shariah or with Tauheed is not Islamic Tasawwuf. On the contrary it is Satanism. Tauheed is the fundamental basis and the pivot of Islam. Minus Tauheed there is no Islam. This is not a contentious issue.

In the U.S.A. there is a sect called the Nation of Islam who believes in a man-god – that Allah Ta’ala had settled inside a human being who was the founder of this sect of shirk and kufr. Despite their noxious doctrines of shirk and kufr, they proudly advertise themselves as Muslims and they call their religion Islam. In Pakistan is the Qadiani religion. They believe that Mirza Gulam of Qadian was a Nabi. In addition they entertain other doctrines of kufr. Yet they call themselves Muslims and proclaim their religion to be Islam. Similarly, there are other deviates/kuffaar who regard themselves to be Muslims and who label their religion with the tag of Islam.

On account of these sects with their kufr and shirk doctrines, is it intelligent to castigate Islam and proclaim it to be a cult of shirk, kufr and bid’ah?? Islam cannot be branded with evil epithets and denounced as a cult of shirk simply because there are people subscribing to shirk and kufr and who have named their religion ‘Islam’.

Similarly, it is downright stupid to denounce Tasawwuf (Sufi’ism) on the basis of the shirk, kufr and bid’ah of some communities who have appropriated the designation, ‘Sufi’ism’, for themselves. The author in his ignorance has denounced Tasawwuf without understanding what exactly Tasawwuf is. Just as the western kuffaar attribute all the jahaalat of criminal Muslims to Islam, so too does the author do with Tasawwuf. Although the practices and doctrines of the deviant sects with their cults of shirk have no relationship with Tasawwuf, the author of the booklet has failed to understand this fact.

Due to his ignorance, the author states in his booklet:

“It (i.e. Sufi’ism) has greatly affected the beliefs of the Muslims and has diverted it from its true course which was laid down in the Noble Quran and pure Sunnah.”

Deviates of a variety of hues and persuasions have undoubtedly diverted Muslims from Siraatul Mustaqeem, and they did the diversion in the name of Islam.

One such deviate sect which has perpetrated this diversion is the Salafi sect of this era. But neither Islam nor any of its branches such as Fiqh and Tasawwuf may be blamed for the deviation of people. In every age there has been deviant sects and groups who have diverted Muslims from the true path of Islam, and they perpetrate their villainy in the name of Islam. But Islam can not be blamed nor castigated for such deviation. If the author had taken the time and applied some effort and brains to studying the Tasawwuf of the Sahaabah and the Fuqaha, then he would not have been so audacious in his condemnation of Sufi’ism which is tantamount to castigating and denouncing Islam itself.

The proper course of action is to explain what is Islamic Tasawwuf and propagate against the bid’ah and shirk which have become attached to the deviant so-called sufi sects which flourish in North Africa, West Africa, Syria, India, Pakistan, etc.

The type of Fiqh which orientalists impart in the ‘Islamic’ Studies faculties attached to kuffaar universities, is not Islamic Fiqh. On the contrary, it is a ‘fiqh’ designed to undermine Islam. Shall we now condemn Fiqh and outlaw it?? Shall we say that Fiqh is haraam, and Fiqh is not part of Islam?? What shall be said is that the ‘fiqh’ which the enemies of Islam teach is not Islamic Fiqh. It is deviation from which Muslims must abstain. True Fiqh is what is being imparted in the proper Islamic institutions of learning – in the Madaaris.

            WHAT IS TASAWWUF??

In the same way, Tasawwuf which is the name for
Tazkiyah-e-Nafs (moral purification), and the pursuit of which is Waajib is acquired from authentic Mashaaikh who meticulously follow the Sunnah and the Shariah. The criterion of Haqq is the Shariah. Any diversion from the Shariah is unacceptable to the true Sufis. Explaining the nature (Haqeeqat) of Tasawwuf, Hadhrat Maseehullah Khaan (rahmatullah alayh) who was an authority on Sufi’ism in recent times, stated:

“The department of the Shariah which deals with A’maal-e-Baatini (conditions and states of the heart) is called Tasawwuf and Suluk, and that department of the Shariah relating to A’maal-e-Zaahiri (the external dimension such as Tahaarat, Salaat, etc., etc.) is termed Fiqh.

The subject matter with which Tasawwuf deals is Tahzeeb-e-Akhlaaq (adornment of moral character). The method of acquiring the Pleasure of Allah Ta’ala which is the objective of Tasawwuf, is complete obedience to the commands of the Shariah.
Tasawwuf is the Rooh and state of perfection of the Deen. Its function is to purify the Baatin (the heart and soul) of man from the carnal and bestial attributes of the tongue, anger, malice, jealousy, love of the world, love for fame, niggardliness, greed, ostentation, vanity, deception, etc.. At the same time Tasawwuf concerns itself with the adornment of the Baatin with the lofty attributes of moral excellence, viz., Tauheed, repentance, perseverance, toleration, gratitude, fear of Allah, hope, abstemiousness, trust, love, sincerity, truth, meditation, reckoning, contemplation, etc.

By this means (of Tasawwuf) the attention becomes focused on Allah Ta’ala. Man’s bond with Allah Ta’ala is solidified, and this is in fact the objective of life on earth. Thus, it is incumbent for every Muslim to become a Sufi. Minus Tasawwuf, a Muslim can not be described as being a perfect Muslim.”

Man is neither only of material substance nor of only spiritual substance. He is a combination of both. In addition, Allah Ta’ala has created an evil nafs in him. Adding to man’s woes, is shaitaan whose presence on earth in pursuit of man’s Imaan and Akhlaaq, was dictated by Divine Wisdom. Casting man into the raging moral and immoral storms of this mundane abode of earth, Allah Ta’ala orders him in the Qur’aan Majeed to arrest the vagaries of his wildly fluctuating bestial nafs: “Shun zaahir sin and its baatin.” (Aayat 120, Surah Al-An’aam).

There is complete unanimity of the Ummah on the shunning and abstaining from all kinds of sin, from apparent/open sins, as well as from secret/concealed sins.

Among the sins of the Baatin are the bestial attributes of the nafs . Purification of the nafs, known as Tazkiya-e-Nafs is a Waajib objective of Islam. There is no need to present evidence for this self-evident fact. This is the subject matter of Tasawwuf.

Besides moral purification and spiritual elevation, there is no other function for Tasawwuf, and no other objective for the Sufi.
Rectification of Aqaaid (Beliefs) is of fundamental importance for the Sufi. The entire success of the Sufi is reliant on correct Aqeedah. Expounding this fundamental requisite, Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thaanvi (rahmatullah alayh), who was a Mujaddid in the sphere of Tasawwuf, said:

“After rectification of Aqaaid and A’maal-e-Zaahiri, it is fardh upon every Muslim to purify (reform) his A’maal-e-Baatin. Numerous Qur’aanic aayaat and Hadith narrations explicitly confirm the fardhiyat of moral reformation.”

In Tareequl Qalandar it is mentioned:

“All authentic principles of Tasawwuf are to be found in the Qur’aan and Ahaadith. The notion that Tasawwuf is not in the Qur’aan is erroneous. This notion is entertained by miscreant ‘sufis’ and the Ulama-e-Khushq (dry, barren Ulama – Ulama who are devoid of roohaaniyat – spirituality). However, both groups have misunderstood Tasawwuf. According to the spiritually arid Ulama, Tasawwuf is baseless since in their understanding the Qur’aan and Ahaadith are devoid of it. On the other hand, the miscreant ‘sufis’ (ghaali sufis) maintain that in the Qur’aan and Ahaadith are found only the zaahiri ahkaam with which Fiqh deals. Tasawwuf, they say, is the knowledge of the Baatin. Thus, according to their misconception, there is no need for the Qur’aan and Hadith – Nauthubillaah! In short, both groups believe that the Qur’aan and Hadith are without Tasawwuf. Conforming to their opinions, one group (the barren Ulama whom the present day Salafis emulate) has shunned Tasawwuf, while the other group (the ghaali Sufis) have shunned the Qur’aan and Hadith.”

The author without having understood the meaning of Tasawwuf, its objective and its basis as propounded by the illustrious authorities of this department of the Shariah, has blindly denounced it simply on the basis of the baatil cults of bid’ah and shirk which have been named ‘tasawwuf’ by their proponents.

But it is unintelligent to denounce Qur’anic and Sunnah Tasawwuf simply because miscreants and deviates call their cult-practices tasawwuf and the followers of their cults ‘sufis’.

The Imaam of Tasawwuf, the illustrious Sufi, Hadhrat Baayazid Bustaami (rahmatullah alayh) refuting the false claimants of Tasawwuf said:

“Do not be deceived if you see a performer of supernatural feats flying in the air. Measure him on the standard of the Shariah. See if he adheres to the prescribed limits of the Commands of the Shariah.”

Sayyidut Taaifah, Imaam of Tasawwuf, the great Sufi, Hadhrat Junaid Baghdaadi (rahmatullah alayh), said:

“All avenues besides meticulous emulation of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) are closed to mankind.”

The famous Sufi, Hadhrat Nuri (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“Do not venture near to one who lays claim to a (supposedly spiritual) state which brings in its wake transgression of the limits of the Shariah.”

Hadhrat Khwaajah Naseeruddin Chiraagh Dehlawi (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“Obedience to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is imperative. This obedience is essential in word, deed and intention because Love for Allah Ta’ala is not possible without obedience to Hadhrat Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Hadhrat Khwaajah Gareeb Nawaaz Mueenuddin Chishti (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“He who adheres to the Shariah, executing its commands and refraining from transgression, progresses in spiritual rank, i.e. all progress (in the spiritual path) is dependent on adherence to the Shariah.”

Hakim Al Ummat Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“Whoever has acquired the wealth of Wusool (the lofty state of close proximity to Allah Ta’ala), has achieved it by virtue of following the Sunnah.”

Similar statements have been made by all authentic Sufis whose very first step in the Path of acquiring Divine Proximity is strict obedience to the Shariah and perfect adoption of the Sunnah.

The author of the baseless criticism against Tasawwuf, instead of referring to the authorities of Tasawwuf to gain the proper understanding of its meaning, looked at juhhaal who lay claim of Tasawwuf. These frauds and imposters who claim to be Sufis, are totally bereft of Tasawwuf. They are devoid of even a slight fragrance of Tasawwuf. Their ‘tasawwuf’ is a cult of bid’ah and shirk. The shallow-minded author has taken such miscreants to be the authoritative proponents of Tasawwuf.

The fact that the author is shockingly unaware of the Tasawwuf Tareeqah of the illustrious Sufis such as Ibraahim Adham, Junaid Baghdaadi, Baayazid Nustaami and countless others, speaks volumes for his own
jahaalat. It is gross jahaalat to seek an understanding of Islam from the mushriks of the Nation of Islam or from Gulam Ahmad Qadiani or from these misguided modernist zindeeqs who have acquired their smattering of scrap knowledge from the so-called ‘Islamic’ Studies faculties of kuffaar universities. If anyone wants to know what Islam is, he has to refer to the Ulama-e-Raasikheen. Similarly, knowledge of genuine Tasawwuf can be acquired from only the true Auliya and Sufiya who meticulously follow the Sunnah and submit wholly to the Shariah.

Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Maseehullah Khaan (rahmatullah alayh), in his treatise, Shariat & Tasawwuf, states:

“The whole combination of teachings imposed by Islam is known as the Shariah. Both sets of acts (A’maal-e-Zaahiri and A’maal-e-Baatini) are included in the Shariah. In the terminology of the Mutaqaddimeen (the Salaf-e-Saaliheen of the Khairul Quroon era), the term Fiqh was synonymous with the word Shariah. Thus, Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullah alayh) defining Fiqh, said: “The recognition of that which is beneficial and harmful for the nafs.” Later, in the terminology of the Muta-akh-khireen, the word Fiqh referred to that branch of Islam which related to A’maal-e-Zaahirah, while the the branch which dealt with A’maal-e-Baatinah became known as Tasawwuf and its anglicised designation is Suf’ism. The ways and methods of pursuing A’maal-e-Baatinah are called Tareeqat.

The notion that the Shariat and Tareeqat are different entities – a notion which has gained prominence among the masses in consequence of the fraud perpetrated by imposters and cranks – is palpably false and baseless. Now that the haqeeqat of Tasawwuf has been clarified, it will be understood that:

· Kashf and Karaamaat are not necessary constituents of Tasawwuf.

· Tasawwuf does not guarantee success in worldly affairs.

· It does not convey the idea that achievements will be made by means of Ta’weez and Amaliyaat nor does Tasawwuf claim that one will be successful in worldly affairs such as court cases, etc.

· Tasawwuf does not promise increase in earnings nor cure from physical ailments.

· It does not foretell future events

· It does not teach that the mureed’s islaah (moral reformation) will be achieved by the Tawajjuh (spiritual focus) of the Shaikh. Supernatural operations are not requisites of Tasawwuf.

· Tasawwuf does not contend that the mureed will not be affected by even the thought of sin nor does it claim that he will automatically, without effort, engage in ibaadat.

· It does not promise self-annihilation (Fana and Fana-ul-Fana).

· Tasawwuf does not promise the experiences of ecstacy and spiritual effulgence in Thikr and Shaghl, nor does it claim that the mureed will experience beautiful dreams and wonderful visions.

All these issues are unconnected with Tasawwuf. The objective of Tasawwuf is only to gain Divine Pleasure via the agency of Wara’ and Taqwa.”

Only a moron will find fault with this exposition of Tasawwuf. One who follows this unadulterated Tasawwuf of the Qur’aan and Sunnah, is a genuine Sufi. Just as a Qadiani and a Bilalian (a member of the American kufr cult, Nation of Islam), is not a genuine Muslim, so too, one who follows one of the many baatil cults of fabricated ‘sufi’ism’ is not a genuine Sufi. If a satan claims to be a sufi, the Suf’ism of Islam will not be condemned on the basis of the satanic claim.

The unwarranted attack on Sufi’ism made by al-Madkhalee is of this moronic kind of refutation. He simply denounced Islam without understanding the meaning of Islam which the genuine Sufis practised. And, among the genuine Sufis were illustrious Fuqaha such as Imaam Abu Hanifah, Imaam Maalik, Imaam Shaafi’, Imaam Ahmad Bin Hanbal (rahmatullah alayhim), and innumerable Ulama, Fuqaha and Auliya down the long corridor of Islam’s 14 century history, right from the era of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

In fact, Nabi-e-Kareem (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was the first Sufi of this Ummah. Among his primary
ashghaal prior to Nubuwwat were Khalwat (Seclusion) and
Muraaqabah (meditation) which have perpetually been significant methods of the Sufiya for the attainment of moral purification and spiritual advancement, and this practice of Khalwat in which the Mu’min communes with Allah Ta’ala, was perpetuated by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) even after Nubuwwat in terms of the Qur’aanic command:

“And after you have completed (your daytime duties of Da’wat) then stand resolutely (at night in Khalwat), and focus enthusiastically towards your Rabb.” (Surah Inshirah)

Without temporary Khalwat (seclusion, physical renunciation of contact with all and sundry), the attainment of the lofty stages of Roohaaniyat is not possible. We thus see that a great Aalim of Imaam Ghazaali’s calibre wandering in the wilderness and secluding himself in total isolation for a long period of nine years. After he had acquired the necessary qualifications in the realm of Roohaaniyat, Allah Ta’ala created the circumstances for him to re-enter society and then everyone is aware how he lay to waste the conglomerates of Shaitaan with his refutations and proclamation of the Haqq.

Imaam Ghazaali (rahmatullah alayh) – this intellectual Giant of Uloom and Roohaaniyat – was an Aalim with whom Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) vied.

In a dream a Wali saw Nabi-e-Kareem (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) presenting Imaam Ghazaali (rahmatullah alayh) to Nabi Musa (alayhis salaam) and Nabi (alayhis salaam), and with delight asking them: “Have you such an Aalim in your Ummats??” Both Nabi responded in the negative. Lest the spiritually arid Salafi attempts to scorn the dream, we remind him that
Ru’ya Saalihah (the dreams of the Pious Men of Allah)constitute one fortieth of Nubuwwat.

Whilst the form of Rahbaaniyat in vogue during the era of Hadhrat Nabi Isa (alayhis salaam) is not a constituent of Islamic practice, temporary Rahbaaniyat
(seclusion and isolation) is valid in Islam. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) spent every night of his blessed life in Rahbaaniyat. He did not refute the total Rahbaaniyat of the illustrious Taabiee, Hadhrat Uwais Qarni (rahmatullah alayh) who spent his life in the wilderness and desert fleeing at the sight of people.

The Auliya practised various periods of temporary Rahbaaniyat, and the Rahbaaniyat which Allah Ta’ala has devised for the masses is the Masnoon ten-day I’tikaaf during Ramadhaan. All the Fuqaha and Aimmah-e-Mujtahideen during the Khairul Quroon era upheld the style of renunciation and abstinence of the Sufiya of those ages. None of them condemned the Sufiya. Only in the later centuries, spiritually barren Ulama considered it appropriate to criticize the Sufis. Due to their spiritual aridity, these Ulama confused the imposters and fakes with the genuine Sufis, and committed the grave injustice of condemning the entire body of Sufiya-e-Kiraam.

THE ATTITUDE OF THE SUFIS TOWARDS THE SHARIAH

Hadhrat Fareeduddeen Attaar (rahmatullah alayh) said:

“The Math-hab we follow, is the Math-hab of Imaam A’zam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullah alayh). This is the Math-hab of Rectitude which precludes error. What a wonderful servant of Allah was he! Besides obedience to Allah and following the Sunnat of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), he had no other concern.”

It is recorded in Futoohaat:
“Every conception which is in conflict with the Shariah is baatil zanaadaqah (baseless heresy). For us (Sufis) there is no Path towards Allah, but the Path of the
Shari ah. There is no road for us, except what Allah has shown us in the Shariah. Any person who claims that there is any other way unto Allah in conflict with the
Shari ah, is false. Such a shaikh who lacks adab should not be followed.”
“He who lacks knowledge of the Law of Allah, has no status by Him. Allah has not made any jaahil a wali”

Hadhrat Fareeduddeen Attaar (rahmatullah alayh) also said:
“Those people who have moved away from the ahkaam of the Shariah and fell into deception, tomorrow they will be in Jahannum with the kuffaar. Be firm on the
Shari ah. For the purification of the Baatin and for salvation there is no medium other than the Shari ah.”

Hadhrat Khwaajah Naseeruddin Mahmood (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“Do whatever Allah and His Rasool have commanded, and refrain from whatever they have forbidden. People have abandoned the Qur’aan and the Hadith, hence they have become corrupt and distressed.”

In Khairul Majaalis it is mentioned:
“He who adopts a way other than the path of the Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) will never attain the goal. Besides following in the footsteps of the Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), he will not find the correct path.”

In short, all these genuine Sufis were meticulous followers of the Sunnah and adhered resolutely to the Shariah. There was not a single true Sufi who did not follow the Sunnah. The Pathway of all Sufiya was only one – the Shariah.

Someone said to the great Sufi, Hadhrat Junaid Baghdaadi (rahmatullah alayh) that there are some persons who claim: “We have attained the goal, hence we have no need for Salaat and Siyaam.”

Hadhrat Junaid commented: “They have spoken the truth regarding wusool (having reached the goal). However, they have reached Saqar (Jahannum).”

Once Hadhrat Sultaan Nizaamuddin Auliya (rahmatullah alayh) during a state of ecstacy uttered: “How lofty is my status!”. Afterwards he repented and said: “I had not uttered correctly. At that time I was a Yahoodi. I now renounce that religion and embrace Islam afresh. Thus I declare: Ash-hadu an laailaha il lallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa-ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu”.

Hadhrat Sultaanji did not justify the statement he had uttered whilst in a trance or in ecstacy. Observing the Shariah and to safeguard the Imaan of the masses, he renewed his Imaan.

Commenting further, Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thaanvi (rahmatullah alayh) wrote in his Shariat & Tareeqat:
“Hadhrat Zunnoon Misri, Sirri Saqati, Abu Sulaiman, Ahmad Bin Abil Hawaari, Abu Hafs Haddaad, Abu Uthmaan, Nuri, Abu Saeed Kharraaz, Khwaajah Mueenuddeen Chishti, Hadhrat Abdul Quddoos Gangohi, Abu Taalib Makki (rahmatullah alayhim) and others have greatly emphasized obedience to the Shariah.
It is abundantly clear from their statements that in the Path of Faqr, the very first requisite is knowledge of the Shariah, then practical implementation of the Shariah. Without these requisites there will be no progress. The Road of Divine Proximity will not open up. No one has ever attained the status of a Wali by opposing Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and adopting bid’ah. When bid’ah severs and blocks the path, what should be said about kufr and shirk?”

All the names mentioned above are prominent and famous Sufis.

Hadhrat Nuri (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“If you see any claimant of proximity with Allah in a condition which is in conflict with the Shariah, do not approach near to him.”

Another great Sufi, Hadhrat Abul Abbaas Deenwari (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“People have violated the fundamentals of Tasawwuf, and have ruined its pathways. They have changed its meanings with new fabricated names. Thus they call tama’ (avarice) ziyaadat, and for disrespect, ikhlaas. They designate abandonment of the Haqq as shatah; subservience to lust as mateebah; obedience to base desires as ibtilaa’; return to the dunya as wasal; evil character as soolah; niggardliness as jalaadah; begging as amal; vulgarity of the tongue as malaamat. But this was not the Tareeq of the Nation (of Sufis).”

Hadhrat Bandaar (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“The companionship of the people of Bid’ah leads to diversion from Allah Ta’ala.”

Hadhrat Qiwaamuddeen (rahmatullah alayh) said:
“O Durwaish! The basis of this effort (Tasawwuf) is the criterion of Kitaabullah, the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the history of the Salaf who were the leaders of the Deen.. ….If anything of the Shaikh is in conflict with the Criterion (of the Shariah), then it is faasid (corrupt). If any statement or action of the Shaikh is in conflict with Kitaabullah, the Sunnah and Ijma’, it will be mardood (rejected). Such a Shaikh is unfit to be a leader. Whoever follows such a shaikh will not attain the goal.”

There are thousands of statements of the Sufi Mashaa-ikh which emphasize the strictest obedience to the Shariah and adoption of the Sunnah. It is thus a contemptible slander to baselessly accuse the Sufiya of diverting Muslims from the course of Islam. Just as Islam will not be condemned if miscreants perpetrate haraam, bid’ah, fisq, fujoor, kufr and shirk in its name, so too is it downright stupid and slanderous to denounce Sufi’ism and the Sufiya because of the bid’ah kufr and shirk of the miscreants who lay claim to sufi’ism.

Offering naseehat to his son, Hadhrat Sayyid Abdul Qaadir Jilaani (rahmatullah alayh) who is among the most famous Sufiya, said:

“ O my son! I admonish you! Fear Allah Ta’ala. Understand the rights of your parents and of all the Mashaa’ikh, for this endears the servant to Allah Ta’ala. In public and in privacy, in all states, defend the Haq. Do not abandon tilaawat of the Qur’aan Majeed, neither with your tongue nor with your heart; in privacy and in public, and recite with concentration and reflection, and with grief and tears. In all the ahkaam (of the Shariah) refer to the Muhkam aayaat of the Qur’aan, for the Qur’aan is Allah’s Proof on the people.

Do not step aside from the knowledge of the Shariah. Learn Ilmul Fiqh. Do not be among the masses and the jaahil sufis. Flee from these mercenaries, for they rob Muslims of their Deen. They are highway robbers.

Make incumbent on you the Aqaaid of the People of Tauheed and the Sunnah. Abstain from innovations. Every innovation is bid’ah and deviation. Do not associate with lads, females, bid’atis, the wealthy and the masses. By means of such association, your Deen will depart……Do not abstain from Jamaat Salaat……Do not hanker after governmental position. He who seeks governmental position will not succeed….Don’t associate with kings and rulers.”

Hadhrat Fudhail Ibn Iyaadh (rahmatullah alayh) was among the Akaabir Sufiya. Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullah alayh) held him in the highest esteem, and would consult with him in difficult Fiqhi masaa-il. Hadhrat Fudhail said:

“Allah Ta’ala destroys the deeds of a person who loves a man of bid’ah, and He snatches away the Noor of Imaan. I have firm conviction that Allah Ta’ala will forgive a person who has animosity for a man of bid’ah despite the paucity of his virtuous deeds. If you see a bid’ati walking along a road, then walk on another road. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) cursing the Ahl-e-Bid’ah said: “Allah, His Angels and creation curse a man who introduces a bid’ah or harbours a bid’ati. Neither is his Fardh accepted nor his Nafl.”

Refuting the slander (which has always been made by those who bear malice for the Sufis), Hadhrat Khawaajah Muhammad Ma’soom (rahmatullah alayh), who was the son of Hadhrat Mujaddid Alf-e-Thaani (rahmatullah alayh), both being very senior Sufis, said:
“If the way of the noble Sufiya was abstention from Amr Bil Ma’roof, then why would a great Sufi say: “A day in which there is no Amr Bil Ma’roof Nahy Anil Munkar among the Sufiya, is indeed an evil day.” Just reflect on those people who do not oppose (evil) nor practise Amr Bil Maroof. Do they in fact believe in the thawaab and athaab of the Aakhirah and the severe warnings in the Qur’aan and Hadith for evil deeds………….

If Allah Ta’ala had loved that people should not be opposed (by means of Amr Bil Ma’roof), then why did He send Ambiya (alayhimus salaam), and why did He command the Call to the Deen of Islam and the negation of all other religions??

Allah Ta’ala has established primarily the Ambiya (alayhimus salaam), and secondarily, the Auliya (the Sufiya) to invite to the Deen, and by their medium, He (Allah Ta’ala) forewarned people of Punishment and Reward. Thus, the true followers of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) are the the associates of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in Da’wat and Amr Bil Ma’roof. A person who abandons Amr Bil Ma’roof is not a follower of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Hadhrat Khwaajah Ahraar (rahmatullah alayh) said: :
“I have been appointed to disseminate and establish the Deen. Initiating mureeds is not my only function.”
This has always been the stance and way of the Sufiya….

The moron Salafi alleges:

“Some of them eat soil and sand and choose to drink murky water, avoiding pure and cool water, since they would be unable to give due thanks for it. This is in fact a puny excuse, since would they, by abandoning cool water, be giving due thanks to Allaah for the rest of His blessings upon them?”

Again the moron illustrates his compound ignorance. In the first place, how many Sufiya is he aware of who had ate sand and soil and consumed murky water?? Then, in an isolated case when the Sufi had consumed these substances, what is the evidence for contending that the reason was the Sufi’s belief of inability to ‘give due thanks’? Madkhalee has made baseless assumptions to hallucinate this reason. The one in a million Sufi who had consumed sand, did so to treat some moral condition of his nafs.

Never did a Sufi believe that he was able to fulfil Shukr
to Allah Ta’ala for a single ni’mat. No one understands this fact better than the Sufiya. Their humility is incomparable. Their belief of their own contemptibility is to the degree of Ilmul Yaqeen.

They believe themselves to be more contemptible than dogs. The question that it had never crossed their minds even in the category of a stray waswasah that they were capable of fulfilling Shukr
for all the limitless bounties of Allah Ta’ala except for cold water and delicious food, is the corrupt conjecturing of moron Salafis.

If in an isolated or rare case a Sufi had eaten sand, then by what stretch of intelligence and by what norm of justice is it valid to accuse all the Sufiya of having done so?? And, on what basis can it be claimed that the rare Sufi had propagated his personal valid idiosyncrasy to be an act to be emulated or that it was a tenet of the Deen??

When so much haraam and najis substances are nowadays used as medicine and for medical treatment, the Salafis are dumb. They are silent and have no criticism for the utilization of haraam substances for medical treatment of physical diseases, but when a Sufi had prescribed for himself a taahir substance as a treatment for a spiritual or nafsaani ailment which he has diagnosed in himself, then the Salafis are quick to condemn, not only the isolated Sufi, but the entire million Sufis who had never resorted to the treatment of the solitary Sufi.

The noble Sufi who had consumed sand for a spiritual condition which he diagnosed in himself was not a jaahil. He was among the greatest Ulama of this Ummah. His name is Abu Taalib Makki, the author of the famous kitaab, Qootul Quloob on which great Shaafi’ Fuqaha such as Imaam Nawawi (rahmatullah alayh) were reliant.

The fact that Imaam Nawawi, Imaam Raaf’i, Zarkashi as well as other Fuqaha and also Imaam Ghazaali (rahmatullah alayhim) cites from Qootul Quloob, is sufficient to confirm the lofty status of this noble ‘sand-eating’ Sufi. No one had ever made any disparaging comment about the noble Shaikh’s ‘sand-eating’.The illustrious Fuqaha of all Math-habs cite Shaikh Abu Taalib Makki and his kitaab occupies a lofty pedestal among the authorities of Islam. Not a single authority of the Shariah has criticized this noble Shaikh, but the moron Salafi deems it appropriate to hurl his jahaalat at this great Waarith (Heir) of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

The penances which the Sufiya observed were in the category of treatment for certain moral and spiritual conditions and states. Just as no one finds fault with
tadaawi bil haraam (medical treatment with haraam substances) when there is a real need, similarly, there can be no valid objection against a Sufi who devised an ‘extreme’ measure to treat a moral or spiritual condition in him. The Sufi who drank ‘murky’ water did so for some specific reason. If this reason is unknown to the moron Salafi, he has no justification for condemning the Sufi, and to a greater extent is his error for implying that such penances of some Sufis were the norm of all Sufis.

In all groups are to be found imposters, fakes and cranks. It is unjust to formulate an opinion regarding the genuine members of a group on the basis of the misdeeds of the fakes. Those who have masqueraded as Sufis for worldly objectives are not the criterion for passing judgment on the Sufiya. Ibnul Jauzee’s criticism in his kitaab, Talbees-e-Iblees, is directed at the frauds
(mustaswifeen) who pretended to be Sufis. He never criticized the Auliya. Among the Ulama too there are numerous fakes and villains. No person of any intelligence will condone condemnation of all the Ulama simply because of the villainy perpetrated by the ulama-e-soo’. On this issue, Madkhalee says:

The endurance of self-imposed hardship was found amongst the first Sufis, but as regards later Sufis then they were concerned only with food and drink.”

And, we may add to this, even smoking dagga and indulging in adultery in the name of the Deen. But such scoundrels may not be termed Sufis. They do not belong to the noble galaxy of Sufiya who were the embodiments of virtue and morality of the highest calibre. Those whose goal on earth is materialism, food, drink, dagga and vice are not Sufis. They are the progeny of Iblees. They are not Walis (friends) of Allah. They are walis of shaitaan. By what stretch of hallucination does the moron Salafi usher such frauds and villains into the class of the Sufiya-e-Kiraam??

What resemblance is there with the self-proclaimed ‘sufis’ who were imposters given to debauchery and the genuine Sufis such as Hasan Basri, Junaid Baghdaadi, Sarri Saqati, Ibrahim Bin Adham and the innumerable illustrious Sufi Masters who strode the firmament of Islamic Roohaaniyat (Spirituality) and Ma’rifat? Painting them all with the same brush displays the compound ignorance of the moron Salafi.

In every age the true Sufis had condemned the imposters and had explained the meaning of Tasawwuf, leaving no ambiguity in this concept and proving that it is an integral part of the Shariah. Moral reformation(Tazkiyah Nafs) is Waajib. Any brand of ‘tasawwuf’ which is in conflict with the Shariah is not true Tasawwuf. It is Satanism.

In recent times, Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (rahmatullah alayh) as well as other senior Ulama of Deoband – all Sufis – have thoroughly exposed the fake and ignorant so-called Sufis. What the grave-worshipping so-called ‘sufis’ are perpetrating today is not Tasawwuf, and the Sufiya may not be condemned on account of the kufr and shirk perpetrated by these false claimants of Tasawwuf.

The Power of Tableegh: the conversion of Mongols to Islam

[By Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi Rahimahullah, Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow]

ISLAM was about to be submerged in the whirl-pool of the Mongol ardour of slaughter and destruction , as several Muslim writers had then expressed the fear, wiping it out of existence, but Islam suddenly began to capture the hearts of the savage Tartars. The preachers of Islam thus accomplished a task which the swordarm of the faith had failed to perform , by carrying the message of . Islam to the barbaric hordes of heathen Mongols .

Conversion of the Mongols to Islam was indeed one of the few unpredictable events of history . The Tartaric wave of con quest which had swept away the entire Islamic east within a short period of one year was , in truth, not so astounding as the Mongol’s acceptance of Islam during the zenith of their glory; for, the Muslims had by the beginning of the seventh century of Muslim era im bibed all those vices which are a natural outcome of the opulence , luxury and fast living . The Mongols were , on the other hand , a wild and ferocious, yet vigorous and sturdy race who could have hardly been expected to submit to the spiritual and cultural superiority of a people so completely subdued by them, and who were also looked down and despised by them. The author of the Preaching of Islam, T .W . Arnold , has also expressed his amaze ment over the achievement of this unbelieveable feat.

“ But Islam was to rise again from the ashes of its former grandeur . and through its preacheri win over these savage con querors to the acceptance of the faith . This was a task for the missionary energies of Islam that was rendered more difficult from the fact that there were two powerful competitors in the field. The spectacle of Buddhism, Christianity and Islam emulously striving to win the allegiance of the fierce conquerors that had set their feet on the necks of adherents of these great missionary religions , is one that is without parallell in the history of the world”

“ For Islam to enter into competition with such powerful rivals as Buddhism and Christianity were at the outset of the period of Mongol rule , must have appeared a wellnigh hope less undertaking . For the Muslims had suffered more from the storm of the Mongol invasions than the others. Those cities that had hitherto been the rallying points of spiritual organisation and learning for Islam in Asia , had been for the most part laid in ashes : the theologians and pious doctors of the faith, either slain or carried away into captivity” .

” Among the Mongol rulers — usually so tolerant towards all religions — there were some who exhibited varying degrees of hatred towards the Muslim faith. Chingiz Khan ordered all those who killed animals in the Muhammadan fashion to be put to death , and this ordinance was revived by Qubilay, who by offering rewards to informers set on foot a sharp persecution that lasted for seven years , as many poor persons took advantage of this ready means of gaining wealth , and slaves accused their masters in order to gain their freedom. During the reign of Kuyuk ( 1246 -1248 ) who left the conduct of affairs entirely to his two Christian ministers and whose court was filled with Christian monks , the Muhammadans were made to suffer great severities Arghun ( 1284- 1291) the fourth Ilkhan persecuted the Musalmans and took away from them all posts in the departments of justice and finance , and for bade them to appear at his court”

“ Inspite of all difficulties, however, the Mongols and the savage tribes that followed in their wake were at length brought to submit to the faith of those Muslim peoples whom they he _ crushed beneath their feet .”

Unbelievable and of far – reaching significance, although the conversion of the Mongols to Islam had been , it is also not less surprising that extremely few and scanty records of this glorious achievement are to be found in the annals of the time. The names of only a few dedicated saviours of Islam who won proselytes from the savage hordes are known to the world, but their venture was no less daring nor their achievement less significant than the accomplishment of the warriors of the faith . Their memory shall always be enriched by the gratitiude of Muslims for they had, in reality , performed a great service to the humanity in general and to the Muslims in particular , by diffusing the knowledge of faith among those barbarians , winning them over to the service of one God and making them the standard- bearers of the Apostle of Peace.

After the death of Chenghiz Khan the great heritage of that Mongol conqueror was divided into four dominions headed by the offsprings of his sons . The message of Islam had begun to  spread among all these four sections of the Mongols who were rapidly converted to the faith. In regard to the conversion of the ruling princes in the lineage of Batu , the son of Chenghiz Khan’s first born Juji, who ruled the western portion as Khan of the Golden Horde, writes Arnold :

“ The first Mongol ruling prince who professed Islam was Baraka Khan , who was chief of the Golden Horde from 1256 to 1267. Accord ing to Abu ’ l-Ghazi he was converted after he had come to the throne.”

Ismaili Aga Khani Dajjali Religion

Ismailis are a self-proclaimed sub-sect of Shia Raafidhi Sect, and are led by Karim Aga Khan Dajjal, who is a half-European billionaire, a former world-class skier and the one-time stepson of Hollywood’s actress Rita Hayworth.

He deceives the masses by falsely claiming himself to be from direct descent from the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), but he has rarely been spotted inside any Masjid (Mosque) of the world or offering any prayer, and has never been to the Holy Kaaba, the place where millions of Muslims from around the world gather for the annual Pilgrimage ( Hajj ) at least once in their lifetimes.

Ismailis, the followers of Aga Khan Dajjali Kafir, practice none of the five pillars of Islam:

1. Shahadah: Ismailis do not have the same Shahadah as the other Muslims. Their shahadah is ‘There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger, and Ali is the ameer-ul-Momineen, Ali is Allah”.

2. Prayer: Ismailis do not pray five times a day like the other Muslims do in a Mosque/ Masjid . Instead, they offer three prayers a day in their community centers known as Jamatkhanas.

3. Fasting: Ismailis do not fast during Ramadhan . Instead, they fast three to four days a year on the occasion of “Shukarwari Beej ” – the days when Friday coincides with sighting of the moon.

4. Zakat: Ismailis do not pay 2.5% Zakat on their wealth to the poor like other Muslims do. Instead, they pay a monthly tithe of 12.5% directly to the Aga Khan Dajjal. This tithe is called ‘ Dasond‘. Ismailis are disallowed to pay Dasond to any charitable organization or to the poor. It has to be paid
directly to the Aga Khan Dajjal through their community centers.

5. Hajj: Ismailis do not go for Hajj , Instead, their Hajj is the Shaitanic sight/glimpse of the Aga Khan Dajjal himself. At the end of their daily prayer, Ismailis wish the person next to them with the greeting of ‘Shah Jo Deedar’ (meaning that ‘May you have a glimpse of the Shah’). The term Shah is used by the Ismailis to refer to Aga Khan, who is also known as ‘Shah Karim al Husayni’.

Further Details on the Ismaili Kufri Aqeedah

1. The Ismailis (followers of the Aga Khan Dajjal) all professedly believe that the Quran was time bound and was not meant to be a Universal message for all times. They believe that their spiritual leader, Karim Aga Khan Dajjal, is the “walking – talking Qur’an” and his “religious pronouncements”, whatever they may be, are the “guidance” for the present times. The fundamental article of faith that there will not be any NEW revelations or “wahy” after the Qur’an, is being completely violated by the Ismailis.

2. The Aga Khan Dajjal has officially Declared himself, before his followers, as the “Mazhar of Allah on earth”. The word “mazhar” means “copy” or “manifest”. Consequently, these Ismailis who call themselves Muslims do “sujood” before him. So even the primary axiomatic principle of Tawheed is being fundamentally and formally violated by them.

3. The Ismailis are not instructed to offer the Islamic Salaah, observe Saum or perform Hajj. They have replaced Salaah with certain shirk-infested Dua’as (thrice a day). They are told that their Hajj is a personal “Glimpse” (Deedaar) of Karim Aga Khan Dajjal.

4. The Aga Khan Dajjal and his appointees ‘forgive the sins’ of the followers on regular basis. Ismailis are misled into believing that they will not be questioned on the Day of Judgment for the sins that are already forgiven in their Jamatkhanas (community centers). Forgiving of sins is the exclusive prerogative and privilege of Allah alone.

5. Against this backdrop, most of the poor (spiritually poor) Ismailis who are not introduced to al-Furqan are confused and misguided. Hence, Ismailis are very easy prey to missionary efforts by various Christian groups and Baha’is. I have known a couple of young ex-Ismailis who are today preaching “Pauline Christianity” to Ismailis as evangelical missionaries.

6. Karim Aga Khan Dajjal’s own daughter Zahra having married a practising Christian has opened the gates for young Ismailis girls to follow the footsteps of a family member of their beloved so-called “Imam-e-Zaman” . The parents of the Ismaili girls who wish to marry outside of Islam have no recourse but to let them go.

7. The Aga Khan has made Halaal for the Ismailis that which Allah has made Haraam for the Muslims. Taking of interest (usury) is not forbidden by the religious instruction classes run by the “Tariqaah” board of the Ismailis. As a matter of fact, the much publicized “Venture Capital” program (details on the website of FORBES Magazine – search under “Aga Khan”), of loaning funds on interest by the AKFED (Aga Khan Fund & Economic Development), has been a great success. Similar entrepreneurial projects are now being actively promoted and introduced to poor Muslims of Tajikistan and neighboring areas.

8. The Muslim Ummaah and the various Muslim leaders are not fully aware of these Un-Islamic acts and beliefs of this community of less than two million members, who claim to be the Ismaili “Muslims”. Surprisingly, their leader Aga Khan Dajjal claims himself to be a spiritual leader of 15 million “Muslims” and a Direct Descendant of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).

9. Earlier, one did not have authentic books on Ismailism, but it is not so anymore. There are two authentic books as well as one comprehensive web site exposing the inner practices of the Ismailis and the Proclamations (Farmans) of the Aga Khans. Hence, now you have no “hujjah” argument or excuse left before Allah for not taking up the task of inviting the misguided “Ismaili Muslims” towards the Deen of Allah and not safeguarding them from committing unpardonable sin of Shirk.

10. The Aga Khan Dajjal in collaboration with so many Western powers and aid, has set up the world-wide Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) which runs several institutions and service companies both in the profit and not for profit sectors. This network is very actively operating in Pakistan, India, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Bangladesh, and has now started concentrating its efforts in Tajikistan and the neighbouring areas where there is a concentration of Muslims who have not known or openly practised Islam for the decades. By taking up economical, social, educational and rural development efforts through NGOs (Non-Govt. Organizations) within the AKDN, the Ismailis and the Aga Khan have gained wide acceptance amongst these countries and masses.

History
The Fatimid dynasty was founded by Abdullah al-Mahdi Billah in 909, legitimising his claim through the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, Fatimah as-Zahra, and her husband Ali ibn-Abi-Talib, who was the first Shi’a Imam. The dynasty was known as al-Fatimiyyun “Fatimid.” It began in Ifriqiya which is today’s Tunisia and Eastern Algeria.
Abdullah al-Mahdi soon controlled over all central Maghreb which represents today’s Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya, ruled from his newly built capital in Tunisia, Mahdia.

In 900 AD, the Fatimids conquered the Ikhshidid dynasty in Egypt and found a new capital at al-Qahira (Cairo) in 969. After Egypt the Fatimids expanded and ruled from Tunisia to Syria and into Sicily and southern Italy. Palestine, Lebanon, the Red Sea coast of Africa, Yemen and Hejaz all came under their rule. The Fatimids were trading in the Mediterranean, India and China in the Middle Ages. The Fatimids were very liberal and their government was staffed on meritocracy and thus included appointments from other branches of Islam as well as non-Muslims. This liberalism had its exceptions in “Al-Hakim bi-amr Allah.”

Decay and Fall of the Fatimids
The Fatimid governors of North Africa, the Zirids, were influenced by Sunni Islam and declared their independence from Cairo in 1040 which triggered the Banu Hilal invasion of the lands controlled by the Fatimid’s. Fatimids lost control of the Levant coast as well as parts of Syria by 1070 being challenged by the Turks, and later the Cursaders also destroyed much of their control in that area, and the Fatimid empire shrank to just Egypt. The crusaders captured Jerusalem in July 1099 from the Fatimid garrison following 5 weeks of siege.

In 1160 the Fatimid political system collapsed. The Zengid ruler Nur ad-Din with his general Shirkuh took over Egypt in 1169, but Shirkuh died two months later and his nephew, Saladin took over power, beginning the Ayyubid Dynasty.

Fatimid Ismaili Practices
Ismailis claim to be an off-shoot of Raafidhi Shia, however even the deviants like raafidhi Shia unanimously reject them. Ismailis believe in the succession of the Imams to the present.

Ismaili beliefs are syncretic (reconciliation with other beliefs), including philosophies from Aristotle, Plotinus, Pythagoras, gnosticism, the Manichaeans, Judaism, Christianity, and Eastern religions. Their beliefs of the creation of the world is idiosyncratic. Their ecumenism, tolerance of religious differences, and religious hierarchy is equally idiosyncratic. The Ismaili separation of Islamic theology into exoteric (conservative Shariah) and esoteric (mystical exegesis of the Quran and inner truth) creates the mysticism that makes the sect extremely complex and mysterious. All these practices and beliefs are veiled in secluded secrecy and the Ismailis believe that these beliefs should be guarded and shielded from unbelievers of their faith. Hence Ismailis believe in the practice of “Taqiyya” for self-protection of their faith. Taqiyya is a practice adopted by most Raafidhi Shia for the same purpose.

The Separation of Ismailis from Orthodox Shia
A disagreement arose over the successor to the 6th imam, Ja’far al-Sadiq Rahimahullah. The Ismailis chose Isma’il tracing the imamat through Isma’il’s son Muhammad and his progenies.

But the majority of the Shia recognised the 12 imams, descendants of Ismail’s brother Musa al-Kazim. Thus the separation of the ways began. The Ismailis two main branches in India are the Musta’lis (Bohras) and the Nizaris (Khojas) who are led by the Aga Khan Dajjal.

The fame of the Aga Khan Dajjal and his family through their prominence in the international political, economic, and social circles has served to aggrandise the Ismaili faith even though this sect represents approximately 0.1 percent of the Muslim world.

From Assassins to Nizari Ismailis
After the collapse of the Fatimid in the 12th century, the “Assassins” survived in Persia (Iran) as the Nizari Ismaili, considered a heretical branch of the Shia sect. However, the Shah of Persia, granted one of their member the title of the Aga Khan in 1818. But in 1840, there was an abortive coup on the next Shah, and the Aga Khan decided to flee Persia for India. In India the Aga Khan and his descendants remained leaders of the Agakhani Ismailis till today.

The Aga Khan Dajjal is internationally known for his association with thoroughbred racing horses in the racing world in Europe and America. Then the world learned of Aga Khan III’s gift from his followers of gold, platinum, and diamonds equal in weight to his body weight. Then the famous marriage of Prince Aly Khan Karim Aga Khan’s father to actress Rita Hayworth and his role as leader of Pakistani’s delegation to the United Nations.

Again Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan served as High Commissioner for Refugees in the United Nations. And more recently Karim Aga Khan was named Commander of the French Legion of Honour for services to humanity.

However in reality, the ancestors of the Aga Khan Ismailis were Hindus who were converted to the Ismaili faith by heretical Pirs (authorised preachers) who came from Persia some 7 centuries ago. These converts adopted the Islamic Tariqah.

The original Ismaili faith grew from the Fatimid Caliphate in Cairo described above. Fatimid Ismailis recited the canonical Islamic prayers in mosques five times a day, as opposed to the conventional Ismaili (Agakhani Ismailis) who pray 3 times a day. They observed Ramadhan and the Hajj.

The roots of the Agakhani Ismailis, who are Shia Imami Khojah, evolved in the Indo-Pakistan subcontinent, and their conversion from Hinduism has gone through various phases of proselytisation. Thus for the past 150 years, Agakhani Ismailis have digressed so much from the original Fatimid Ismailis that todays Agakhani Ismaili practices bear little resemblance to that of the original practices.

Under Article 14 of the Constitution of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims (1986), any Ismaili who prints, publishes, or circulates any material or makes any statement of convenes a meeting or assembly purporting to be on behalf of, or in the name of, or relating to, the Imam, the Ismaili Tariqah, the Jama’ at (a congregation of community,) and any Ismaili Council or Institution without the written permission of the national Council within whose jurisdiction he or she resides shall be liable to disciplinary action, and the offender can be expelled from the community.

HOW AGHA KHANI’s ARE KAFIRS:
(1) The orthodox Muslim’s article of faith that there will not be any new revelations or “wahy” after the Qur’an. This is violated by the Ismailis. Agakhani Ismailis believe that the Qur’an was time bound and therefore not the immutable word of Allah. Ismailis believe that whatever their spiritual leader, the Aga Khan, may pronounce will be the guidance for the present. (This challenges the immutability, “wahy” of the QUR’AN.)

(2) The principle of Tawheed has been violated by the Ismailis because The Aga Khan as declared himself the “Mazhar of Allah on earth.” Mazhar is translated as “copy” or “manifest” and hence has defied Muhammad as the “Last of the Prophets.” This is a very serious point with orthodox Islam, that Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam is the last of the prophets. That all those who come after him are but false prophets.

(3) The Agakhani Ismailis a.k.a Dajjalis are not commanded to offer the Islamic Salaah, observe Saum, or perform Hajj. They have replaced Salaah with Dua’as (thrice a day.) They are told that their Hajj is a personal “Glimpse” (Deedaar) of Karim Aga Khan the Dajjal.

(4) Qur’an 3:135 clearly states that the forgiving of sins is the prerogative of Allah alone. Yet, the Aga Khan Dajjal and his appointees will “forgive the sins” of their followers and will not be questioned on the Day of Judgement for sins that are already forgiven in their Jamatkhanas (Ismaili community centres.) Thus defying the authority of Allah.

(5) Thus these esoteric views, deviant from orthodox Islam and the Qur’an can be very confusing and divisive to both Ismailis and orthodox Muslims and weakens the orthodox ideologies.

(6) The Aga Khan  Dajjal has made Halal for the Ismailis that which Allah has made Haraam for Muslims such as the matter of Usury (interest on loans). Usury is not forbidden by the “Tariqaah” board of the Ismailis. The Aga Khan Dajjal lends funds on interest by the AKFED (Aga Khan Fund & Economic Development.)

A History of the Ismaili Movement and Conclusion of the World Muslim League

Ismailis were “Muslims” in name only, as they adhered to their ancient occult traditions of the Sabians. Although the earlier Ismailis did not deviate from the central tenets of Islam, it was through the influence of Abdullah ibn Maymun that the movement became subversive of Islam and also of all other religions. All this began when a charismatic leader, Abdullah ibn Maymun, a member of the Brethen of Purity , became the leader of the Ismaili movement around 872 AD.

Maymun was a follower of the Mesopotamian Gnostic heretic Bardasanes and a Soroastrian dualist and was a Gnostic and well versed in all religions of the time. Maymun used Islam as a front. It was he who created the seven degrees of initiation for the Batinis.

One of Maymun’s devotees was Hamdan Qarmat the founder of Qaramintah which was predominant in Arabia. He introduced concepts from the Gnostic dualism that permitted them to pillage, to abandon prayer, fasting and other traditional Islamic rituals. This resulted in the growth of popularity of the Qaramintah sect that grew into a powerful and fearsome band of brigands. The Qaramitah dominated Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain and extended their ravages westwards. They controlled Makkah after the slaughter of 30,000 defending Muslims.

However, the majority of Ismailis believed in the succession of the Imam in keeping with the traditions of the Fatimid dynasty who had their own caliph and had their capital in Cairo in 973. The founder of the Fatimis Dynasty was Ubeidullah, known as Mahdi, who claimed descent through a line of “hidden imams,” from Muhammad, son of Ismail, and through him, from Fatimah the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad. However, after the Fatimid establishment of their power in Egypt, the substance of the Fatimid teachings was little different from the code of Abdullah Ibn Maymun, and his more violent initiate, Qarmat.

So we conclude that by the 10th century, the Fatimids,
Bardasanes, the Zoroastrians, the Qaramintah ideologies had all but amalgamated into one intermingled ideology and tradition. Ismailis were in fact a splinter group that were only Muslims in name, and had deviated from the traditions and ideologies of Islam. Preceding the Qadianis by almost 1,000 years, the Ismailis were not of the fold of Islam as defined by The World Muslim League

True Jihad- Tarnished by the Salafis/Modernists

CRIMES OF PSEUDO-JIHADIS HAVE
NOTHING TO DO WITH JIHAD

Introduction

forthcoming in this section is a compilation of articles which illustrate the huge difference between the lofty institution of Jihad and the murderous atrocities perpetrated by spiritually barren pseudo-Jihadis who, devoid of taqwa and waraa (abstinence from all doubtful matters and even some permissible matters), acquire enough room to justify their actions by loosening the reins of rigid adherence (taqleed) to one of the four accepted madh-habs (schools of thought codified over a millenium ago which comprise of all the rulings of Islam).

In the same manner in which lengthy arguments based on Qur’an, Sunnah, and new ijtihad (interpretations) based on unprecedented scenarios of warfare, are used to justify dubious actions on the battlefield, every other alteration to the Deen (religion) is justified and legalized today by bypassing rigid taqleed (adherence) to one of the four accepted madh-habs, and opting instead for direct ijtihad (formulating of rulings) using the Qur’an and Sunnah, – an ijtihad that is violently subject to variation according to the chaotically fluctuating intellects of modern day scholars.

Modernists and Salafis of all breeds should take note that the very same slogans of “Quran and Hadith” that they themselves use to ‘reform’ or ‘modernise’ the religion, are also used by these pseudo-Jihadis to justify their ‘Jihad’, which effectively opens the door for each person to create a tailor-made version of ‘Islam’.

The natural consequence of granting any scope to scholars today to leave one of the four madh-habs for what is believed to be the ‘stronger ruling’, is unlimited versions of ‘Islam’, with each scholar absolutely convinced that his particular version is the Haqq (truth), no matter how mutated it may seem to others.

Those who hold a ‘softspot’ for modernist and Salafi breeds of their particular inclination, should realise that their ‘softspot’ is in fact Nifaaq (hypocrisy), according to the clear explicit statements of the Salaf-us-Saliheen who had adopted extreme harshness towards even the slightest of deviations in the Deen, and who regarded the potential danger of Baatil sects to be even worse than that of the Kuffaar.

The Ummah is not in need of Mushtabah (doubtful) and Haraam Asbaab (means). The clearly Halaal bounds of Allah’s glorious Shariah are more than sufficient to deliver victory to our doorsteps, no matter how limited and restricted such bounds may seem to our puny intellects colonized by the effects of materialism. The use of Mushtabah Asbaab (doubtful means) is, in fact, an open statement expressing a lack of Tawakkul (trust) in the clearly Halaal bounds set by Allah (azza wa jal). As a result Allah (azza wa jal) abandons us to our Asbaab (means) and withdraws his Nusrat (Divine Help) – a Nusrat without which all the means, weaponry, man-power, technology, etc. in the world will not be able to extricate the Ummah from its current state of abject humiliation.

Thus, while the Jihaad of the small band of Sahabah (radhiyallahu anhum) was met with resounding victory after victory, without barely any means whatsoever, eventually delivering the whole world into their hands within a few years, all Jihaad efforts of groups influenced by Salafis and modernists, over the past century, have ended in catastrophe after catastrophe.

May Allah (azza wa jal) inspire this downtrodden Ummah to submit to the pure orthodox Shariah completely, adopt Taqwa and Waraa’ in all matters, and thus be deserving of His (azza wa jal) Nusrat.

Does the Holy Qur’an encourage killing of all non-muslims?? : A slap in the face of false propagandists and Islam-haters

It is amazing to see how many non-muslims would blindly post the verses from Quran, without even reading from ‘appropriate’ and well-know translations. Needless to say they hardly ever know the context. In this article we will be examining commonly quoted verses on the topic of violence and refuting them. This article is divided in 3 parts:

1) Refuting commonly quoted verses on the topic of violence

2) Exposing the hypocrisy of Jews and Christians

3) Providing accurate picture of Islam

1)Refuting commonly quoted verses on the topic of violence

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AT TAUBAH, CHAPTER 9: VERSE 5

Islam-critics only post 9:5:

“Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AT TAUBAH 9:5)

Let’s read the verse in context 9:1-9:5:

Freedom from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty. Travel freely in the land four months, and know that ye cannot escape Allah and that Allah will confound the disbelievers (in His Guidance). And a proclamation from Allah and His messenger to all men on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage that Allah is free from obligation to the idolaters, and (so is) His messenger. So, if ye repent, it will be better for you; but if ye are averse, then know that ye cannot escape Allah. Give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom to those who disbelieve,
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term . Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him). Then, when the sacred months have passed , slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran SURAH AT TAUBAH 9:1-5)

This verses is always quoted out of context, they never post 9:6 or from 9:1 to 9:6. If we read from start it states that there was a treaty, which the Pagans of Arab broke. Thus Allah gave them 4 months as 9:2 states in order to amend the treaty. Verse 9:4 states that the punishment prescribed in 9:5 is ONLY to those who broke the treaty and NOT to those who abided by the treaty. Therefore the context of 9:5 is of war with the pagan Arabs who broke the treaty yet refused to amend it in 4 months.

Naturally, in war violence is expected. If a war is declared between Country A and Country B, because country B broke the treaty and refused to amend, then if president of country A states “wherever you find soldiers of Country B, you kill them and besiege them”, no one would truly find much wrong in that statement.

Killing in war is nothing peculiar, and there is yet to be a war where soldiers hugged and kissed each other.

Verse 9:5 quoted to boost morale of Muslims during battle:
In Surah Taubah chapter 9 verse 5 the Qur’an says “Kill the Mushriqs [pagans] where ever you find them”, during a battle to boost the morale of the Muslim soldiers.

What the Qur’an is telling Muslim soldiers is, don’t be afraid during battle; wherever you find the enemies kill them.

Islam-critics remain shy of posting the next verse, 9:6, as it contains the answer to their deception:

“And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety . That is because they are a folk who know not. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AT TAUBAH 9:6)

Quran does not only say that you release those who seek protection but it goes even further and states to protect them! In the present international scenario, even a kind, peace-loving army General, during a battle, may let the enemy soldiers go free, if they want peace. But which army General will ever tell his soldiers, that if the enemy soldiers want peace during a battle, don’t just let them go free, but also escort them to a place of security?
Hence even in war Quran promotes peace.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AL BAQARAH, CHAPTER 2: VERSE 191

Islam-critics usually apply “cut and choose” approach with regards to this verse. They only quote: “And slay them wherever ye catch them…” (SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:191).

However, let us be brave enough to read the whole passage in context from 2:190-195:

Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And kill them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, kill them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease , God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression , and there prevail justice and faith in God;
but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression. The prohibited month, for the prohibited month, and so for all things prohibited, there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear (the punishment of) God, and know that God is with those who restrain themselves. And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for Allah loveth those who do good. (YUSUF ALI, Quran, SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:190-195)

The verse clearly states to fight those who fight you, yet do not transgress limits. In so sense therefore does it promote killing of innocent but allows self-defence. It further goes on to state “And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice” and “if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression”.

Hence, once again when the whole context is examined the verses does not promote killing of innocent in anyway.

Abdul Majid Daryabadi (Finlay, Greece Under the Romans, pp. 367-368) writes on verse 2:190:

“…Violating the truce they themselves had signed. The Muslims, after having borne untold persecution with almost superhuman fortitude for years and years at the hands of the pagans of Makkah, are now for the first time enjoined to take to reprisals. ‘For a full thirteen years the Muslims were subjected to relentless persecution in Mecca . The Prophet and his followers fled for life to Medina, but the enemy would not leave them alone in their refuge. They came to attack them within a year , and the first three battles were fought in the very locality which will whether the Prophet was an assailant or defendant’ (Headley, The Original Church of Jesus Christ and Islam, p. 155).

The Makkans had signed a truce and were the first to break it …”
Once again when the whole context is examined the verses does not promote killing of innocents, whether muslims or non-muslims in anyway, but only self-defence.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AN-NISA’,CHAPTER 4:VERSE 89

Verse says:

But if they turn away, catch them and slaughter them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.” (SURAH AN-NISA’ 4:89)

Once again the context is ignored, they don’t quote previous and next verses.

They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks;- Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you:
Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them). Others you will find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: Every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto: if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them: In their case We have provided you with a clear argument against them. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AN-NISA’ 4:89-91)

When we read it in context, verse 4:89 is NOT to those “who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people.” This verse is only referring to those “withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands”.

Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi says with regards to this verse:

“Now tell me honestly, do these verses give a free permission to kill any one anywhere?? These verses were revealed by God to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), at the time when Muslims were attacked by the non-Muslims of Makkah on a regular basis . They were frightening the Muslim community of Madinah. One may say using the contemporary jargon that there were constant terrorist attacks on Madinah and in this situation Muslims were given permission to fight back the “terrorist”. These verses are not a permission for “terrorism” but they are a warning against the “terrorists.” But even in these warnings you can see how much restraint and care is emphasized.”

Therefore, it is clear that the verse only allows self-defence against those who “withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands”.

Naturally, it would be necessary for the enemies to withdraw and make peace in order to achieve peace. Verse is not referring to “those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people”.

In “…withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands”, it is obviously necessary to give guarantees of peace or form a treaty in addition to stop fighting. Otherwise, anyone can pretend to be “restraining their hands” when they are weak, and when they are strong again they come back and attack again. Thus to make it official, Quran says to give you (guarantees) of peace, and not act as two-faced.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AN-NISA’, CHAPTER 4: VERSE 95

We have already discussed 4:89, now lets look at 4:95. Common translation amongst the critics of this verse (poorly translated) is:
Not equal are those believers who sit at home and receive no injurious hurt, and those who strive hard, fighting Jihad in God’s Cause with their wealth and lives. God has granted a rank higher to those who strive hard, fighting Jihad with their wealth and bodies to those who sit (at home). Unto each has God promised good, but He prefers Jihadists who strive hard and fight above those who sit home. He has distinguished his fighters with a huge reward.

Now let’s examine this verse in the light of another common translation:

O ye who believe! When ye go forth (to fight) in the way of Allah, be careful to discriminate, and say not unto one who offereth you peace: “Thou art not a believer,” seeking the chance profits of this life (so that ye may despoil him). With Allah are plenteous spoils. Even thus (as he now is) were ye before; but Allah hath since then been gracious unto you. Therefore take care to discriminate. Allah is ever Informed of what ye do. Those of the believers who sit still, other than those who have a (disabling) hurt, are not on an equality with those who strive in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives. Allah hath conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the sedentary. Unto each Allah hath promised good, but He hath bestowed on those who strive a great reward above the sedentary; (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran SURAH AN-NISA’ 4:94-95)

The verse is stating One who strive in the path of God with lives and wealth are not equal to those who do not, which is logical. Accurate translations make no mention of “Jihadists” and killing as poor translations indicate. Once again, critics take advantage of inaccurate translations. Also 4:94 prevents killing of innocents as it says “…be careful to discriminate, and say not unto one who offereth you peace: “Thou art not a believer,” seeking the chance profits of this life…”

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH MUHAMMAD, CHAPTER 47: VERSE 4

If read with good translation and historical context in mind, no significant complaint can be found about 47:4. However, some non-muslims insist on using a very poor translation of Quran with additions. One such translation reads:

Qur’an 47:4 So, when you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle, smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them . At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by God to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam .

However, almost all of the major translations are contrary to the above translation. Yusuf Ali’s translation reads:

Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost. (Yusuf Ali Translation, Quran, SURAH MUHAMMAD 47:4)

Further translations can be checked out here . Nowhere does the accurate translations make any mention of 1)”killing and wounding” 2) “Thus are you commanded by God to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam”, those are additions of the translator’s and are not to be found in Quran.

The context of this verse was when the Muslims were to fight their enemies for their very existence . After thirteen years of endurance and patience, the prophet and his companions had to leave their home town of Makkah and to emigrate to Madinah. When the people of Madinah had welcomed him there and he was accepted as a leader there, the Makkans became unhappy. They wanted to eliminate Muhammad and his religion; and so they sent their army to root out Islam. And the crucial battle took place in Badr.

Once again, the context is of war here and therefore killing of innocent people is not prescribed. Naturally, in war people would be expected to fight and kill, therefore “smite at their necks” is only natural.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AL AHZAAB, CHAPTER 33:VERSE 23

Another poor translation of this verse commonly seen reads:

Qur’an 33:23 Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God and have gone out for Jihad ( holy fighting ). Some have completed their vow to extreme and have been martyred fighting and dying in His Cause, and some are waiting, prepared for death in battle .

More accurate and common translation reads:

Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least: (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AL AHZAAB 33.23)

Critics have included “fighting and dying”, “prepared for death in battle” and their own interpretation to the verse. Ibn Kathir rahimahullah writes:

“When Allah mentions how the hypocrites broke their promise to Him that they would not turn their backs, He describes the believers as firmly adhering to their covenant and their promise:
([they] have been true to their covenant with Allah; of them some have fulfilled their Nahbah;) Some of [the Qur’anic commentators] said: “Met their appointed time (i.e., death).” Al-Bukhari said, “Their covenant, and refers back to the beginning of the Ayah.
(and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed in the least.) means, they have never changed or broken their covenant with Allah. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)”

It is clear, when read in proper translation, that the verse does not promote killing of innocents at all.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AL BAQARAH, CHAPTER 2:VERSES 217-218

Verse states:
They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: “Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members.” Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein. Those who believed and those who suffered exile and fought (and strove and struggled) in the path of Allah,- they have the hope of the Mercy of Allah: And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:217-218)

The context of these verses refers to an expedition of a group of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), under the lead of Abdullah bin Jahsh Asadi Raziyallahu Anhu. The companions recognized a caravan from the Quraysh. Since the Quraysh had openly declared war on the Muslims and had persecuted them to the extent that they drove them out of their homes, and stole their property, the companions present, felt that they could retaliate. They killed one man of from the caravan, and took two as prisoners. When they returned to Madinah, the Prophet Muhammad disapproved of their attack during the Holy Month. But God revealed this verse as a reminder to the Muslims that while killing in the Holy Month was bad, persecution and expelling people from their homes because of their faith is far worse. So the verses make it very clear that in the face of the terrorist attacks of the polytheists, the Muslims should be brave and steadfast and turn to God for help rather than giving in and leaving the truth.

Shaykh Safiur Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri (Al-Mubarakpuri, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum; Riyadh-Saudi Arabia, Dar-us-Salam Publications, 1996; pp. 205-206)writes on verse 2:217:

The Words of Allah were quite clear and said that the tumult created by the polytheists was groundless. The sacred inviolable sanctities repeatedly violated in the long process of fighting Islam and persecuting its adherents . The wealth of the Muslims as well as their homes had already been violated and their Prophet Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam had been the target of repeated attempts on his life…Shortly afterwards, the two captives were released and blood money (compensation) was given to the killed man’s father. (fn. For details see Zad Al-Ma’ad, 2/83-85; Ibn Hisham, 1/605; Rahmat-ul-lil’alameen, 1/115. 2/468.) (Al-Mubarakpuri, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum; Riyadh-Saudi Arabia, Dar-us-Salam Publications, 1996; pp. 205-206, emphasis added)

ACCUSATIONS ON SURAH AL BAQARAH,CHAPTER 2: VERSE 244

2:244 Fight in God’s Cause, and know that God hears and knows all. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:244)

Verse 2:244 is informing us not to transgress limits and Allah “hears and knows all”, also fight in God’s cause which could be in reference to several things including liberation of the oppressed, meaning the helpless men and women who are yearning and praying for freedom as well as striving for all that which is good as well as doing Dawah in an appropriate manner. This does NOT refer to fighting and killing innocents . As Quran says:

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you , but do not transgress limits ; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:190)

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AN-NISA, CHAPTER 4: VERSE 76

Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil’s strategy is ever weak. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AN-NISA’ 4:76)

Now, let’s read the verse in textual context:

Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward. How should ye not fight for the cause of Allah and of the feeble among men and of the women and the children who are crying: Our Lord! Bring us forth from out this town of which the people are oppressors! Oh, give us from thy presence some protecting friend! Oh, give us from Thy presence some defender! Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil’s strategy is ever weak. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AN-NISA 4:74-76)

Verse 4:76 is specific to those who have been oppressed. In order to help those who cannot help themselves is indeed a great deed and to shun away tyranny and help those who are weak and oppressed. Islam-critics seek to present a view of violence and hate on behalf of Quran, however, when the verse is examined carefully in a correct context, their deceit is clearly exposed.

Dr. Maher Hathout (Hathout, Jihad vs. Terrorism; US Multimedia Vera International, 2002, p.50) comments on verse 4:76 by saying:

This verse is related to the two preceding verses where it was stated that those who fight for God’s cause would be rewarded whether they are victorious or slain. Fighting for God’s cause includes the liberation of the oppressed, meaning the helpless men and women who are yearning and praying for freedom. The believers fight for God’s cause, and the disbelievers fight for the sake of their idols. An idol may be taken conceptually. For example, evil or greed may figuratively be construed as idols. The believers should put all their trust in God the Almighty and Powerful and fear not the disbelievers and their evil plans. Evil plans are always inferior to goodness. (Hathout, Jihad vs. Terrorism; US Multimedia Vera International, 2002, p.50)

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AL MA’IDAH, CHAPTER 5: VERSE 33

Verse states:

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AL MA’IDAH 5:34)

The verse before and after 5:33 is not usually quoted, as 5:32 prohibits murder and 5:34 encourages forgiveness.

On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people . Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land. The punishment of those who
wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is : execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; Except for those who repent before they fall into your power: in that case, know that Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AL MA’IDAH 5:32-34)

The verse mentions “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land ” is either execution, OR crucifixion, OR the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, OR exile from the land. This is the punishment for waging war against the Prophet of God and spreading corruption. Four kinds of punishment are mentioned based upon the gravity of the crime. As Muhammad F. Malik writes in his translation of this verse:

The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Rasool and strive to create mischief in the land is death or crucifixion or the cutting off their hands and feet from opposite sides or exile from the land (based on the gravity of their offence)… (Malik, Al-Qur’an: Guidance for Mankind)

Therefore stealing may not result in execution but cutting of hand. Similarly, killing an innocent person may not result in exile from the land but execution. Verses 5:32 and 5:34 must also be taken in consideration, which condemns killing of innocent and takes into account repentance.

ACCUSATIONS ON SURAH TAUBAH 9: VERSE 29

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AT-TAUBAH 9:29)

This verse is referring to the Islamic Concept called “Jizya”, which Shaikh Sayed Sabiq in the Fiqh Alsunna (a commonly used source of fiqh[rulings (Fatwa) of Muslim Islamic jurists]), describes as “ the underlying root of the word jizya is jaza, and defines it as “A sum of money to be put on anyone who enters the themah (protection and the treaty of the Muslims) from the people of the book“.

It is usually portrayed by certain critics that jizya is a mechanism for discriminating non-muslims in an Islamic-society. This is a common misconception; jizya is a political method dealing with finance.

One of the main pillars of Islam is called Zakat (Muslims whose wealth is above a certain limit must pay a percentage of it (in most cases 2.5%) to the poor and needy). Islam does not “force” upon non-muslims to follow one of it’s main pillar. This certainly quietens some critics who would otherwise be accusing Islam of imposing itself on them. Just like in a non-muslim society muslims pay tax, likewise non-muslims are obliged to pay certain percentage of their money to the Islamic State. It is quite hypocritical of non-muslims to criticize Jizya, whilst, in non-muslims countries muslims have to pay tax. If tax is justified then so should jizya be.

Regarding the amount of jizya Shaykh Abu’l-Hasan Al-Mawardi (d. 1058CE) writes in his book Al- Al-Mawardi, al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah, Ta-Ha Publishers Ltd. 1996, pp. 209-210: :

“The fuqaha (Jurists) differ as to the amount of the Jizya. Abu Hanifa considers that those subject to this tax are of three kinds: the rich from whom forty-eight dirhams are taken; those of average means from whom twenty four are taken, and the poor from whom twelve dirhams are taken: he thus stipulated the minimum and maximum amounts and prohibits any further judgement on behalf of those responsible for its collection. Malik, however, does not fix its minimum and maximum amount and considers that those responsible should make their own judgement as to the minimum and maximum. Imam Ash-Shafi’i Rahimahullah considers that the minimum is a dinar, and that it is not permitted to go below this while he does not stipulate the maximum, the latter being dependant on the ijtihad (judgement) of those responsible: the Imam, however, should try to harmonise between the different amounts, or to exact an amount in accordance with people’s means.”

In conclusion, this verse refers to non-muslim who doesn’t pay poll-tax in Islamic State and thus do not contribute to the financial needs of the territory. It is generally agreed by the four major Jurists that jizya money is based upon one’s income. We ought also not forget that muslims are also obliged to pay Zakat.

Some critics try to pose the conception that the verse ought to be translated as “Kill those who believe…” instead of “Fight those who believe…” They claim since the verse uses the arabic word Qateloo, which comes from the root word Qaatil. However, there is derivitive field in arabic, when prefix and suffix are added, it determines the defination of verse in context. If it meant to say kill, verse would have said uqtulo or uqtul.

in arabic words for “Fight” are:
N ﻣﻘﺎﻭﻣﺔ , ﺷﺠﺎﺭ , ﻣﺒﺎﺭﺍﺓ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﻤِﻜﻤﺔ , ﺻﺮﺍﻉ , ﻭﻏﻰ , ﻋﺮﺍﻙ , ﻣﻨﺎﻭﺷﺔ , ﻛﻔﺎﺡ , ﻧﻀﺎﻝ , ﻣِﻜﻤﺔ ,
V ﺣﺎﺭﺏ , ﻗﺎﺗﻞ , ﺗﻘﺎﺗﻞ , ﺗﺒﺎﺭﺯ , ﻛﺎﻓﺢ , ﻧﺎﺿﻞ , ِﻛﻢ , ﺧﺎﺽ ﻣﻌﺮﻛﺔ , ﻗﺎﻭﻡ

Note: As the dictionary testifies one of the word for Fight is Qaatil (in a verb). Furthermore, in english, word Qaatil is translated thus:Adverb: DEADLY, LETHAL, VITAL, MURDERED, MURDEROUS,
Noun: KILLER, MANSLAYER, MURDERER, ASSASSIN,
Verb: BATTLE, COMBAT, ENGAGE, FIGHT , WAR

So Fight indeed is a correct translation, in a context of a
VERB . Also the jizya is only upon livings, dead people cannot pay money. Therefore “kill until they pay jizya” would also have logical contradictions, as killing would cause jizya to be abolished.

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AL ANFAAL 8:VERSES12-13 and SURAH AL ANFAAL 8:VERSE17

Anti-Islam websites quote this verse as:

“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them. This because they contend against God and his apostle…”

Let’s read verses from 8:12-16:

When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment. That (is the award), so taste it, and (know) that for disbelievers is the torment of the Fire. O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle , turn not your backs to them. Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless manoeuvring for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.(PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL ANFAAL 8:12-16)

Hence when read in its textual context the verse is referring to smiting in the time of BATTLE. Now let’s read 8:17 which is presented in absence of 8:14-16:

Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL ANFAL 8:12-16)

Verses 8:12-17 are in the context of Battle Of Badr.

Tafseer (Commentary) on 8:12-13:
“The historical context is that this verse was revealed at the Battle of Badr, a battle in which the pagans of Makkah traveled over 200 miles to destroy the Muslims of Madinah . The Pagans of Makkah had an army of about 1000 while the Muslims were only 300 followers. The Prophet Muhammad ((peace be upon him)) and his followers had suffered severe persecutions and torture for 13 years in the city of Makkah. Having fled from Makkah to the safety of Madinah, they found that they were once again threatened.”
Al-Mubarakpuri, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum; Riyadh-Saudi Arabia, Dar-us-Salam Publications, 1996; pp. 219-220, says:

“When the fierce engagement grew too hot he (Prophet Muhammed) again began to supplicate his Lord saying: “O Allâh! Should this group (of Muslims) be defeated today, You will no longer be worshipped.”….

Immediate was the response from Allâh, Who sent down angels from the heavens for the help and assistance of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and his companions.

The Noble Qur’ân observes:

And recall when your Lord inspired the angels: “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved.” [SURAH AL ANFAL 8:12]

Furthermore, 8:19 says:

(O Qureysh!) If ye sought a judgment, now hath the judgment come unto you. And if ye cease (from persecuting the believers) it will be better for you, but if ye return (to the attack) We also shall return. And your host will avail you naught, however numerous it be, and (know) that Allah is with the believers (in His Guidance). (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL- ANFAAL 8:19)

It is obvious from historical and textual context therefore that the verse in no sense promote killing of innocents. Verse 8:19 reaches out a hand of peace towards the Qureysh despite their aggression.

ALLEGATION ON SURAH MA’IDAH, CHAPTER 5: VERSE 51

Translation of PICKTHAL is usually quoted:

O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. (PICKTHAL Translation Quran, SURAH AL MA’IDAH 5:51)

The arabic word Awliya used in 5:51 is mistranslated by PICKTHAL and other major translators. More accurate translation of the word Awliya would be “Protector” , “allies” or “intimate friends”. Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi says regarding this:
“In the verse you quoted, the word “Awliya” is used. It is a plural and its singular is “wali”.

The correct translation of the word “”wali”” is not “friend” but it is someone who is very close and intimate. It is also used to mean “guardian, protector, patron, lord and master.”

In addition, according to Ectaco Online Dictionary, root word of Awliya (Al-wali ﺍﻟﻮﻟﻲ ) means:
Noun: PROTECTOR

Whilst according to the same dictionary words for friends in arabic are:

Noun: ﺻﺪﻳﻖ , ﺭﻓﻴﻖ , ﺯﻣﻴﻞ , ﻧﺼﻴﺮ , ﺍﻟﺼﺎﺣﺒﻲ ﻋﻀﻮ ﻣﻦ ﺟﻤﺎﻋﺔ ﺍﻟﻤﻬﺘﺰﻳﻦ , ﺍﻟﺮﻓﻴﻖ ,
Verb: ﺻﺎﺩﻕ , ﺁﺯﺭ

Al-Wali and awliya are NOT mentioned in the above list of friends.

However, according to it one of the word for protector in arabic is ﺍﻟﻮﻟﻲ (the wali):
Noun ﺍﻟﺤﺎﻣﻲ , ﺍﻟﻤﺪﺍﻓﻊ , ﺍﻟﻮﻟﻲ , ﺍﻟﻨﺼﻴﺮ , ﺍﻟﻮﺍﻗﻴﺔ ﺃﺩﺍﺓ ﻟﻠﻮﻗﺎﻳﺔ ﻣﻦ ﺍّﺫﻯ , ﺍﻟﻮﺻﻲ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻌﺮﺵ

Allah says Allah alone is the Auliya (in the sense of a proctector):

Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers) other than Allâh is as the likeness of a spider, who builds (for itself) a house, but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider’s house; if they but knew. (Al-‘Ankabut 29:41)

Or have they taken (for worship) Auliyâ’ (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allâh, He Alone is the Walî (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things. (Ash-Shura 42:9)

The word Auliya is also used as a substitiotion for God/Lord:

Say (O Muhammad Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam): “Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?” Say: “(It is) Allâh.” Say: “Have you then taken (for worship) Auliyâ’ (protectors, etc.) other than Him, such as have no power either for benefit or for harm to themselves?” Say: “Is the blind equal to the one who sees? Or darkness equal to light? Or do they assign to Allâh partners who created the like of His creation, so that the creation (which they made and His creation) seemed alike to them.” Say: “Allâh is the Creator of all things, He is the One, the Irresistible.” (Surah Ar Ra’d 13:16)

Do then those who disbelieve think that they can take My slaves [i.e., the angels, Allâh’s Messengers, ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), etc.] as Auliyâ’ (lords, gods, protectors, etc.) besides Me? Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism). ( Surah Al-Kahf 18:102)

Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allâh (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) are Auliyâ’ (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allâh is the Walî (Helper, Protector, etc.) of the Muttaqûn (pious). (Surah Al-Jathiyah 45:19)

Or have they taken (for worship) Auliyâ’ (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allâh, He Alone is the Walî (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things. (Surah Ash-Shura 42:9)

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. And those who take Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): “We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allâh.” Verily, Allâh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allâh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever. (Surah Az-Zumar 39:3)

ALLEGATIONS ON SURAH AT TAUBAH 9: VERSE111

Verses 9:111-112 states:

Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. Those that turn (to Allah) in repentance; that serve Him, and praise Him; that wander in devotion to the cause of Allah,: that bow down and prostrate themselves in prayer; that enjoin good and forbid evil; and observe the limit set by Allah;- (These do rejoice). So proclaim the glad tidings to the Believers. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran, SURAH AT-TAUBAH 9:111-112)

As we read in Quran limits set by Allah are: “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.” (Yusuf Ali Translation, Quran, SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:190).

Thus in the light of 2:190 it can be easily understood that the verse teaches self-defence in a form of a physical jihad (striving in the path of Allah). Let us also remember the rest of context of Chapter 9, which we have discussed before in 9:5 and 9:29.

2) Exposing the Hypocrisy of Jews And Christian And Jews

It is quite hypocritical of non-muslims to quote verses from Quran out of context or to mistranslate them. Some non-muslims are under the impression that their holy book does not even speak of self-defence or war! If I am to quote certain verses, I would be blamed of misquoting and taking things out of context, if that act is so disgraceful then why do certain non-muslim persist on misquoting Quran??
Here is a sample of some such verses, these are from KJV Bible unless states otherwise:

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass .” (I Samuel 15:2-3)

NOTE: One might ask what crimes have the poor infant, sucking and animals have done?

“And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and woman: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.” (Ezekiel 9:5-6)

“Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves .” (Numbers 31:16-18)

“And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword .” (Joshua 6:21)

“Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.” (Deuteronomy 12:2-3)

“All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.” (From the NIV Bible, 2 Chronicles 15:13)

“Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.” (Isaiah 13:15-16)

“And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes …” (I Chronicles 20:3)

“And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain.” (Deuteronomy 2:34)

“And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Hesbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city . But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities we took for a prey to ourselves.” (Deuteronomy 3:6-7)

“Either three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel…” (I Chronicles 21:12)

“And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.” (I Samuel 6:19)

“Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.” (Deuteronomy 13:15)

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: But thou shalt utterly destroy them ; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: (Deuteronomy 20:16-17)

“And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under the axes of iron , and made them pass through the brickkiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.” (II Samuel 12:31)

“Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.” (Isaiah 13:15-16)

“And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city , we left none to remain.” (Deuteronomy 2:34)

“And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Hesbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city . But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities we took for a prey to ourselves.” (Deuteronomy 3:6-7)

“Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.” (Psalms 137:9, KJV)

“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:7)

“How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock .” (Psalms 137:9, New American Bible)

“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword : their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.” (Hosea 13:16)
“a blessing on anyone who seizes your babies and shatters them against a rock !” (Psalms 137:9, Jerusalem Bible)

“ The LORD is a man of war : the LORD is his name.” (Exodus 15:3)

If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl , for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 22:28-29)”

There are many other examples. Now, let’s examine certain quotes of Jesus:

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple .” (Luke 14:26)

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” (Matthew 10:34-37)

“I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?” (Luke 12:49)

“Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.” (Luke 12:51-53)

“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me .” (Luke 19:27)

“Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one” . (Luke 22:36)

3) Providing accurate picture of Islam — Quran preaches peace

Unsurprisingly, Islam-critic shy away from posting verses of the Quran, which preaches peace. By bombarding verses out of their context or using dubious translations they seek to give the impression that a book such as Quran leaves no place for peace.
Can muslim and non-muslim co-exist??

One of the common misconception is that Quran teaches that either non-muslim must be forced to become muslim or they must be put to death. They justify themselves by misquoting verses, most of which we have discussed in this article. Now, let’s examine what Quran really says, does Quran allow non-muslim to keep their religion? One whole chapter is dedicated in Quran to this topic called Surah Kafiroon (Chapter THE DISBELIEVERS):

Say: O disbelievers! I worship not that which ye worship; Nor worship ye that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which ye worship. Nor will ye worship that which I worship. Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.
(PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL KAAFIROON 109:1-6)

The chapter gives crystal-clear evidence of “let and let live”. Quran states “Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion” “let and let live” to me my religion”. Thus no enforcement of religion by sword or otherwise is suggested in Islam. Furthermore, Quran says that there is no compulsion in religion; non-muslims do not have to become muslims against their wishes:

There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
(PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL BAQARAH 2:256)

Does Quran not say kill (innocent) non-believers??

Murder is a grave sin in Islam, Quran says in 5:32:

For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that
whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind . Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL MA’IDAH 5:32)

As Quran points out killing an innocent being is like killing an entire humanity, which naturally leaves no place for killing innocents. It must be pointed out that Quran states “…whosoever killeth a human being…”, thus referring to a human being and not simply restricted to muslims.

Quran also says:

And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden save with right. Whoso is slain wrongfully, We have given power unto his heir, but let him not commit excess in slaying. Lo! he will be helped. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH E BANI ISRAA’IL 17:33)

Quran emphasises not to slay unjustly!

Does Quran state to hate non-muslims and treat them unjustly??

This is another common misconception, Quran itself describes how ought a muslim to a treat non-muslims:

Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from
dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH AL MUMTHAHANAH 60:8)

Quran states to deal KINDLY and JUSTLY with those who don’t fight us. It does not only order muslims “not to live and let live” but to even go a step further in living peacefully and deal with them kindly and justly.

Another verse says:

O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly , that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do. Allah hath promised those who believe and do good works: Theirs will be forgiveness and immense reward. (PICKTHAL Translation, Quran, SURAH MA’IDAH 5:8-9)

Allah emphasises not to let hatred of people prevent them from upholding justice.

Does Quran not say to wage war with non-muslims for any reason possible?

Quran states:

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged; – and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid;- (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right ,- (for no cause) except that they say, “our Lord is Allah”. Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will). (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran,SURAH AL HAJJ 22:39-40)

There are reasons for which permission of war is given is mentioned in the verse as those have been wronged and “expelled from their homes in defiance of right” because they are muslim.

Quran also calls upon it’s followers not to transgress limits:

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits ; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (YUSUF ALI Translation, Quran,SURAH AL BAQARAG 2:190)
